Kelsey completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Family Studies and a Master of Social Work degree from Utah Valley University. Kelsey has been trained in domestic violence, psychological first aid, sand-tray, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed interventions including TF-CBT. Currently, she is preparing for certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and implements techniques from Child Centered Play Therapy, Family Play Therapy, and Filial Therapy. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, self-harm, and suicidal ideation, as well as those recovering from trauma, grief, and abuse. Kelsey has experience clinically supporting neurodiverse populations and their families, including those on the Autism Spectrum and with varying developmental/intellectual abilities. Kelsey provides an accepting and inclusive space for individuals and families to discover acceptance and healing. She is an LGBTQ+ ally.
Prior to joining our Zest team, Kelsey worked with Hobble Creek Behavioral Health, where she met one-on-one with clients of all ages and facilitated a children's art and yoga workshop. She also has 10 years of experience working directly with children and adults with developmental disabilities residing in residential, foster, and biological family homes, as well as providing crisis management and trauma-informed training to non-profit staff and foster parents across the state of Utah.
Kelsey enjoys adventuring with her husband and two young children. She has a passion for learning about animals, particularly elephants, and finding treasures at thrift stores. The outdoors is her happy place, and she loves coloring outside of the lines!
