Candice is currently a second-year master's student at University of Phoenix, pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Candice completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Wellness from Brigham Young University in 2010. She worked in fitness and nutrition before transitioning into mental health.
Candice has experience working with adolescent girls in short-term residential treatment for suicidal ideation, self-harm, drug addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. Her clinical interest includes supporting parents of children with special needs, disabilities, or mental health disorders, play therapy, trauma, and personal growth. She uses humor and a client-centered approach. An active member of the Utah Mental Health
Counselors Association and the American Counseling Association, Candice participates in further training opportunities and advocacy.
Candice strongly believes that our upbringing, relationships, genetics, and environment shape our lives yet we can still choose to learn new and healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. She helps her patients realize they are not bound by their past or current life situations; instead, she guides them as they adopt a new belief system and overcome past conditioning that may be affecting them negatively.
Candice is passionate about physical and mental health and enjoys spending time with her three sons camping, fishing, playing board games, or going to movies.
