She is bilingual and provides services to both English and Spanish speaking clients. Clinically, she works with children, adolescents, and young adults in our American Fork office location. Administratively, Miranda is a clinical supervisor for graduate intern therapists. |
She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University, where she then went to graduate with a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. During this time, she gained experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma due to multigenerational trauma and substance abuse. Miranda has also spent time working with immigrants that face challenges with assimilation and PTSD.
Her current areas of focus include life changes, depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, faith concerns/spirituality, behavioral issues, working with older adolescents, self-esteem, and relational issues. Miranda believes that everyone should have the chance to discover their own mental health through therapy, in which they will have the opportunity to have more insight and understanding over their own thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. Overall, bringing empowerment, peace, and control to their lives.
Miranda has been trained in and experience utilizing brain-based Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Informed Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy.
Originally, Miranda is from Texas, moved to Utah for school, and has lived here ever since. When she isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her spouse and two sons (one who happens to have four paws), exploring new foods, dancing, and listening to true crime podcasts.
